Do you find yourself often wishing you could
change your home but don’t have the means?
That’s how I felt too. Until I decided I could be the one to do it myself. Without ever having touched a power tool, I taught myself how to tile, wire a light, put up wall treatments, and so much more and cut the cost of projects in half by not having to pay contractors! You can too! Feel free to look around, read the tutorials, see the before & afters, and be encouraged along the way! I’m so very glad you are here!
Come along
on the journey with us!
A new journey
has just begun!

The primary bathroom at the Oaks is done and I couldn’t be happier. She took on a personality of her own once we added this beautiful @northandfinch wallpaper and moody faux marble fluted tile. We have realized that building and designing a house from the ground up has proven to be challenging, but everything has a solution, like a cute bench in the shower when you forgot to add a ledge and a custom backsplash to your vanity when you wired an outlet too close for the stock quartz one. It’s been so fun seeing these bare 2x4’s Ryan put up come to life and be full of character! Next up..the bedroom! Our favorite tradition each year is to open up an advent card each day that has an intentional activity, service project or act of kindness on it. The Christmas season becomes so full that many times we miss the small little things that not only bring joy to our kids and others, but create tradition and magic during the season. Things as simple as having hot cocoa for breakfast, handing out gift cards to strangers, taking cookies to neighbors or roasting marshmallows over the fire. The kids look forward to this every year and I love that it helps me be intentional to not miss the moment. If you want to do something similar with your family, comment ADVENT on this reel and my free printable calendar plus list of ideas will be sent to your inbox!Button

Happy Anniversary Babe! 18 years! I’d love to tell you I have the secret to a perfect marriage. But the reality is it’s just plain hard work. It’s a constant decision to honor each other, to serve each other, and to put each other ahead of your self. I’m so grateful that even though we both fail at this over and over, we are committed to keep trying. To make our marriage better. To fight for it. Im so grateful to do this life with you by my side Ryan Lundeen. I love you! 📸: the one and only @annaerickson30Button

When we started this venture of a barn sales 12 years ago, we never in a million years thought it would last this long. So many small shops have had to close their doors for so many reasons and we kept on saying we will ride this wave until we have to do the same. And truth be told, you guys outdid us every year. We opened our doors and you showed up. In a BIG way. When people doubted that we’d be able to draw a crowd to the literal middle of nowhere, you proved them wrong. So we aren’t closing our doors because of lack of sales or customers, or because the barn sale has died. And I know to so many that’s so confusing:) Bur to be honest we are closing the doors because we are in a new season of life. We no longer have little toddlers running around our feet or babies sleeping in the crib. A season where we crafted from our kitchen table and were so grateful how the Lord would provide income and allow us to stay at home and still help out or family. But now we feel the pull to other ventures. Ryan and I have taken a major leap of faith by starting @lundeenlakerentals and have been AMAZED at how cool God is and how awesome it has been to meet so many of you that way as well. We continue to ask the Lord to direct our steps and build our house so that it’s not in vain. And we know that will include all of YOU, who have been such a huge part of our lives. So stay tuned….the possibilities are endless but we know we will continue to look for ways to connect with everyone on the other side of this app that has become such a big part of our lives. We love you. Thank you for the send off. You are amazing. And now we will cry at Gods goodness, His faithfulness, and His people for a long, long time. XOXO Ryan & Allie and @houseonahill514Button

Thank you Jesus for the blessings you have surrounded me with and that I get to call these people mine. Thank you Jesus for the mission of growing them on your firm foundation and watching them turn into adults who love you. I pray you guide them and protect them all the days of their lives and that they honor you in all they do. “Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.” -Psalm 127:3 Ps. It’s true. Those who give more are happier people. Tons of studies have been done and show that giving releases serotonin, dopamine and oxytocin in our brains. Isn’t that just like the Lord to make our bodies better by giving to others. One organization our family has fallen in love with and gives to is @mercyships . It’s an organization that follows the 2000 year old model of Jesus of bringing hope to the hopeless. They send ships full of medical professionals who volunteer their time and services to give life changing surgeries to those who couldn’t otherwise afford it or access it. On top of that they train local medical teams to continue to help the communities long after they leave. We are so grateful to be able to donate to this amazing organization to be the hands and feet of Jesus around the globe. Will you join us? Learn more about @mercyships and get on board today. This audio was perfect for what the Lord has been laying on our hearts the last few years as we are watching our kids get older. We realized we can provide for them a foundation that can launch them into a successful business and walk alongside them as we help them create that. Instead of waiting to give them an inheritance when we are gone, our desire is to pass on our inheritance while we are here in the form of skills, mentorship and financial help. So instead of creating a college savings, it could be a business start up or a down payment on a house. So much to think about, so much to pray about, but also so exciting to shift mentality from what has been around for so long - that success is only following a college education. We aren’t 100% sure what this exactly looks like yet, but we do know that the skills our kids have learned will open up opportunity and also hopefully fuel a passion in them for something they love. And we also know that if we instill in them integrity, an amazing work ethic, and a love for the Lord, they will do great in life. And I selfishly love this idea because I’m not ready to kick anyone out of the house….❤️❤️❤️Button

The Lord has been working on my heart and convicting me that instead of just complaining about what I’m seeing in the world around me, to do something about it. And not just something, the most powerful thing. PRAY. I have to be honest in saying that prayer is truly the hardest act of obedience for me, and I 100% believe it’s because the enemy does whatever he can to stop us from it since he knows how powerful it really is. But prayer in itself is a huge act of faith. To pray to an unseen God big bold prayers and believe that He will answer them and bend His ear hear them….its powerful. It’s not only an act of obedience but an act of faith. I was encouraged by a friend to pray each day at 7:14 am as a cry to God, humbling myself before him and truly doing what 2 Chronicles 7:14 says to do. I have to admit, I’ve ignored this conviction for quite some time. But with a huge election coming up and the spiritual battle getting more intense, it’s time to armor up, cry out, and fight for our country. So I’m extending the invite to you as well. For me this is an offering of sacrifice and obedience to the Lord. To wake up early each morning and start my day in intentional prayer for our country. Let’s spread this message far and wide and go into battle these next 30 days. If you’re in, drop a 🙏🏼 below and let’s encourage each other!! “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14Button

7 years ago Ryan and I made one of the scariest decisions of our lives, and yet God gave us so much peace in it. We purchased a fixer upper cabin 6 miles from our house when we had a 2,3,9&10 year old. A lot of people didn’t understand our decision. It seemed frivolous and out of reach. But we knew it was the best decision for our family. The Lord confirmed it when our 80 year old next door neighbor shared the sweetest encouragement with us. His wife had just died of Alzheimer’s, and he was her main caretaker. He said, most people save and save for their future. They pinch pennies thinking when they retire they will see the world and leave their kids a big inheritance. You guys are doing it right. Because what most people don’t realize is that they are betting on the fact that both them and their spouse will be in good health when that time comes. You guys are investing in your family NOW and I’m so proud of you. I know not everyone can buy a second property, especially in these times, but we can all be more intentional with our resources and time to invest in our families now. We can shift our perspective to be in the present instead of worrying above the future. We can create opportunities to strengthen our family unit, to protect them from the outside world, and to build them on a strong foundation NOW. Because the time goes by way too fast. So here’s your reminder. Be intentional. Do the thing. Live in the moment and create the memories. NOW. Thanks Bob for your amazing words of wisdom.Button

Getting our cabin ready for renting this winter and who doesn’t love to snuggle in and watch a show from bed on vacation? But this tiny 12x8 bedroom didn’t leave any room for a tv….until we came up with the idea of hanging it in the closet. The perfect solution for function and beauty.Button

We’ve been dreaming of a hot tub at our little cabin forever, and this summer it finally came true! It’s the perfect addition to my happy place and I’m so happy with how it turned out. We knew we didn’t want to take away any of our deck space, so we built her a deck of her own and made her look like she always belonged🥰❤️. Now to sit back, relax, and watch the sunset from our @masterspas hot tub 👏🏼Button

What a whirlwind! We had a small opening between guests at Lakeside Cottage and pushed ourselves to get the old fogged up window out of the primary bedroom and a new door in that will *soon* lead to a hot tub for ultimate relaxation! We weren’t sure if we’d get it 100% done. We not only got it done, but ended up finishing in 30 hours! And we are so happy with the results. Wait until you visit us and wake up in the bed with the new full length view of the lake. It’s pretty dreamy! Now for a little break before we start prepping for a hot tub!Button

Oops, I did it again….and I’m not mad about it! We got this golf cart off an auction this winter and my one request when Ryan was asking if we could buy it was that I was able to give it a makeover. My only regret is that it took me all summer to do it! One hour and 3 cans of spray paint later, I couldn’t be happier. I guarantee if this goof cart looked like this at the auction it would’ve sold for a lot more, and the cost to me was just $20! Save this tutorial if you want to upgrade your golf cart too!Button

WINDOW TRIM DIY! Did you know trimming out your windows really isn’t that hard? And we found a way to keep it inexpensive with a high end look. We use primed pine 1”x4” boards to keep costs down. If you want to save even more you can buy unprimed and use an oil based primer to prime the knots. Then the trick is to buy 1/4” x 1 1/8” boards to trim around your pine. It edges out the window so nicely and gives it an elevated look. The difference is in the before & after! So make sure and save this reel to do it yourself, because YOU CAN!! 👏🏼 Or show it to your hubby or builder in case DIY isn’t your thing;)Button

Life is better at the lake!! 😉 With the best friends! Another week of making amazing memories, laughing til we cry, exploring new places and having the best time. Thank you Jesus for knowing we needed each other and what an awesome blessing that our families became best friends too. Swipe right to see our photo from last year. As time goes on, and kids get older, it makes us be more intentional to carve out time for our families. And it’s been the best decision ever. Even though we live cross country, our bond has grown stronger and we have created core memories to last a lifetime. So here’s your reminder. Invest in friendships. Find your people. Live in community. I’ll let you in on a little secret, it’s life giving. Until next time….in the winter…when MN is frozen and we’ll surely say life is better at the beach!Button

I honestly believe that the only way we are going to correct the anxiety/depression/addictions in this next generation is by us as parents putting healthy boundaries around our kids. Ryan and I decided early on that our kids wouldn’t have social media or smart phones. We started talking about this decision with our kids when they were young so they knew this was a clear and definite boundary we set. We talked about the why behind it, how we were choosing to protect them, their mental health, and their innocence in this area. That just because everyone else has it, doesn’t mean it changes the decision for our family and the culture we want to create within our 4 walls. One where they would feel secure and safe in our home. Where they didn’t carry around 1,000 friends and opinions in their back pocket telling them what they were or who they should be. Was it easy?! No, not always. Do we regret it? Not for a second. Having a 15 and 16 year old now, the benefits we’ve seen from this decision far outweigh any of the negatives. Yes, every once in a while they still feel left out since it seems it’s the only way peers communicate. But the bond it’s created in our family, the freedom for them to be who God created them to be without others knocking them down, the influence we’ve been able to have over them without having to compete with all the people behind a screen, the creativity they’ve found and the work ethic they’ve gained has been so rewarding. Not to mention so much less drama has occurred in our home🙌🏼 People often comment how they love the family community we’ve created, but the reality is it doesn’t just happen. You have to work to fight culture to create the family you want and I encourage you young mamas to start now. Set the boundaries. Stay strong. Persevere. And reap the rewards. Our kids have the freedom to get an iPhone and social media when they are 18, just a couple short years away. And I pray that the years we’ve trained them will equip them to use it in a much healthier capacity, because I know we do live in this world, but we don’t need to behave the way it does❤️Button

BYE BYE SHIPLAP! I know it’s controversial, but I covered up all of the shiplap in our living room and I’m not mad about it. I may have went a little shiplap crazy 10 years ago when I covered almost every inch of our house with it🤪 Although I still love it and will leave it in our great room, I wanted a little something more formal in the living room. Not only did this fluting give me a formal vibe, it also made the room feel much taller and I didn’t need to rip out any shiplap, I could just go right over it. A huge win! I ended up painting it the same color as the trim (revere pewter) and I’m in love with the after! So, what do you think?!? Are you team shiplap forever or up for trying something new?Button

Did you know that if you commit to reading your Bible 10-15 minutes a day you’ll be able to read the whole Bible in a year. So many people tell me, I just haven’t been able to commit and stick to reading my Bible. And I get it, I couldn’t either. Until I had this revelation. The day I meet Jesus am I going to be able to say to His face, I didn’t have 10 minutes a day for you? Knowing full well I wasted hours scrolling or enjoying what I wanted to do. It was humbling quite honestly and such a poor excuse. We all have time, we just don’t always prioritize it the best. Once you get your priorities straight, it almost seems crazy to think you could tell God you didn’t have time for Him. So every time I have a busy day or think I can’t fit God in, I think of talking to Him and saying, I don’t have 10 minutes for you God. And it changes my perspective ever.single.time. And trust me, YOU will be blessed for spending time getting to know the one who made you by being in the Word! So if you’re in the camp I was in a few years ago, maybe try a perspective shift and see what God does! Spray paint! Your BFF in a can👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 When we tackled the exterior of Lakeside Cottage our budget was tiny. I would have loved to change the siding and added a new roof and cute shed, but we couldn’t afford it. But you know what we could afford?!? A few cans of spray paint and some sweat equity! I ended up spray painting the shed and the windows and used my paint spray we to paint the garage door and facia and soffit with outdoor paint. A total transformation on a tiny budget! So my toxic trait…..spray painting the world. Spray on I say👊🏼 Drop your toxic trait below 😆👇🏼Button

SWEAT EQUITY! It’s amazing what some hard labor and vision can do to clean up the landscape of a run down place. This little cottage was overrun with weeds. Trees were growing through the old dock and leaves hadn’t been raked in years. We did a family work day, hired @nagellandscaping to move dirt and bring in big rocks, and then I planted 45 shrubs, laid 7 1/2 pallets of flagstone and put my heart into making this outdoor living space feel like extending living. When we put @urbanfloor engineered wood flooring in our house it was my dream floor. I never thought I’d find something I liked as much on a smaller budget with more durability. But I was AMAZED at the quality of their luxury vinyl. The 9” planks are made with technology that mimic stained European oak wood floors, and even have embossed grain! But the best part is they are waterproof and scratch resistant. Ultimate durability that will hold up to wear and tear and the test of time. We chose the color Capri from their Cascade Collection and couldn’t be happier.Button

This will be the 4th time reading my Bible through chronologically in a year and the difference I’ve seen in my life has been amazing. * I know who God is, have a deeper love for Him, desire to obey Him, and see the fruit he promises from doing so. * My kids see me putting God first everyday which in turn has led to them wanting to know Him more in a deeper way. 🙌🏼 * My marriage has benefitted from me realizing I am first accountable to God and how I act, even when it’s hard. * It has taught me discipline. Sometimes reading the Bible is hard and there are things I don’t understand, but I push through and persevere because I know God desires us to know his Word. * My foundation is secure. I know this is not my home and it has helped keep my mindset eternal - therefore giving me peace in a chaotic, crazy world. * And mostly it’s how God speaks to me. His word is alive and I find new revelations everytime I read it! “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. 13 Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.”. -Hebrews 4:12-13 This community is kick starting a brand new group reading through the Bible in a year and we start June 1st! BEFORE & AFTER!! I’ve been waiting for this day for far too long. I knew the minute I walked into this cabin that the placement of appliances was all wrong. I mean, who wants to stare at a windowless wall while you’re doing dishes when you could have a lake view?!? It made so much more sense to hide the refrigerate behind the nook and move the sink to the peninsula. The only thing we kept in the kitchen was the cutest little dishwasher that’s perfect for guests. Other than that this kitchen got the most beautiful countertops from @mncoldspring called calcatta Verona that are actually a quartz! And @cdgranite did an amazing job fabricating them and installing them. The waterfall on the peninsula is truly a show stopper. I can’t wait for you all to start making memories in here! I can’t tell you how excited I was to add these @shelfology floating shelves to my newly renovated kitchen. It’s like the cherry on top to the final design. I love open shelving for the fact that they can be both functional and beautiful, and these radius concretey shelves not only matched the color scheme perfectly but the curved detail was perfect for Lakeside Cottage! I love Shelfology because you can custom order your shelves from the length to the depth to the color. And they hold a ton of weight, huge win! Don’t underestimate how important it is to pick the right grout color. I was so indecisive and decided to buy an extra bag of grout to try 2 different colors, white and sterling. After holding up my grouted sample tile I quickly realized white would be too busy and fell in love with the way steeling softened the whole look. So when you aren’t sure, go the extra step to make sure you love it before you commit to a grout that’s not easy to change! Ps, these tiles actually come in 13”x13” sheets and are 1/3 the cost of zellige tiles with a very similar look! I love this girl so much and honestly I’d choose to hang with her every day. But it wasn’t always that way. There were a couple of hard years when it seemed like nothing was working and I didn’t enjoy her. And that is heart-breaking to even type out. But yet it was reality. Sharing a bit of my heart as to why I’m so happy I didn’t give up, I didn’t give in, and I didn’t let go of the convictions I knew God had for our family just to make her happy. I don’t know about you, but remembering to water my plants is low on my list of ways I want to spend my summer. Add on top of that the crazy amount of $$$ you can spend on annuals or fun trees to fill big planters and having a beautiful front porch all of a sudden can become stressful! We are on the go most of the summer, so having faux everything has made life much simpler at home. Gone for a week, no worries! Insanely hot outside, who cares, finding just the right plant that can handle full sun/all shade/part shade etc…no longer a problem. Faux plants require no maintenance, no perfect weather conditions, and are available as soon as you want them! All of the faux plants shown in this reel are going on their 3rd summer here in MN and have held up great. No fading, no falling apart, and no work!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼. So if you want to simplify your summer, comment FAUX and get the links sent to your inbox!Button

Tomorrow I turn 41. I wouldn’t change it for the world. Sure my face is getting more wrinkles and my knees are starting to sag. My body has more aches and pains and my energy level can’t quite match what my brain wants it to do, BUT….. With 41 years of living, I’ve become confident in who I am because I am confident in the one who made me. I’ve done enough life to know that there aren’t always fairy tale endings and happily ever afters, but there is a God who walks beside us in our hardest days, through our darkest moments. I’ve become aware that fear is the biggest tactic of the enemy and that it’s important to shut out noise and voices that feed it to focus on the mission Jesus has put in front of us. I realize as I’m about half way through my life that we aren’t guaranteed tomorrow, that every day counts, and that what we do here matters for eternity. It grounds me, it humbles me, it guides me, it corrects me. I’ve realized the need to be in Gods Word daily. I’m about to finish reading the Bible 3 times in 4 years. And when I tell you it brings peace indescribable and a strong unshakeable foundation, I mean it. Try it out for yourself and see. I strive to live eternity minded, because when we realize this world is not our home, we truly can laugh without fear of the future, because we know how the story goes. We know the ending. And when we are confident in THAT, there is nothing to be scared of. Cheers to 41. “She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.” PROVERBS 31:25Button

It really is the perfect marriage. Although it took us 18 years to get here. I finally gained his trust, he finally saw my potential. It doesn’t happen overnight, but I am so grateful we can play on each other’s strengths to create something beautiful! This little window nook was useless space. By adding a window bench we not only created function (extra seating!) but we also made our big box cabinets look custom! A huge win on the budget and the design. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼. Tag your DIY partner below with a big old THANK YOU! Cause we can’t always do it on our own. Love you @lundeen.ryan and all the skills God has gifted you with. Thank you for making my dreams come true!❤️🥰😘Button

Good design, just like anything in life, takes intention and you barely get it right the first time. I had originally thought I could get away with one black console table until I put it in the space and realized that the scale was entirely wrong. A little tweaking, some swapping out of items and a whole lot of unboxing and shopping finally make for the perfect design. I put my tips and tricks in the reel but thought I’d add them here as well in case you want to save this for future styling. 1.) Get your scale right. Make sure you have a piece of furniture that grounds the whole space. 2.) add symmetry if you can. It can be the same items like lamps, or different items, but you want to create balance. 3.) Make sure you have some height, especially in an open space or on a blank wall. This could be adding a mirror or hanging frames. 4.). Layer! Add the pretties and the extras to make your space visually appealing. Try not to make it be small trinkets but items that are cohesive with the look and bring in different scale as well. 5.) Lastly, add texture and function. I love playing with neutrals and the key to making them cozy is by adding texture. Baskets, blankets, pillows and textiles can do just that! Step back and enjoy your design! Ps, find all links for this space in my LTK shop. (Link in profile)Button

I can’t tell you how many times I hear, “I’m scared of what the future holds.” And I get it, we live in crazy times with a lot of uncertainties. It’s easy to get overwhelmed. It’s easy to look forward with fear. But is that what is best for us? How do we overcome that. The answer is remembering God’s faithfulness! Look back and see what He has done in your life. The battles He’s already walked you through! I’ll go first… *the death of my daughter *the death of my dad *jeopardizing my career and business to shine light in the darkness. All of these are circumstances we’ve walked through that we never thought we’d be able to. Not on our own. But we never had to do it on our own. God was with us through it all. He never left us. And He actually BLESSED us through it. He blessed our business, He grew our faith, He made our foundation even firmer. Reading through the Old Testament the last few months I see God do this exact thing over and over again with the Israelites as well. He reminds them of how faithful He was to them. How He delivered them out of the hands of their oppressors the Egyptians. How He provided for all of their needs in the desert. He even reminded them how their sandals never wore out after 40 years. (He is faithful in the small things!) And not only that but He commanded them to share it with their kids. To pass on His faithfulness to future generations. To wear tassels to remind them of it. Because He KNOWS we are weak. That fear can overcome us. But that fear is NOT our future. We can face each day with JOY and PEACE, walking in the calling God has for us because we KNOW He is faithful and will never leave us or forsake us. YOU are our future God. Let US be faithful to you as we stand on YOUR faithfulness.Button

I can’t believe how easy it was to make a DIY frame for my tv. I was able to complete it in about 1 hour and it only cost me $80! Read below to find the step by step tutorial as well as the material list: TUTORIAL- 1.) Measure the outside edge to outside edge of the length and width of your tv. Cut your pine 1x3 boards to the length you measure. (Make sure your shortest point on the 45 degree angle is your measurement, so your board will actually be longer than the measurement you took.) 2.) Use wood glue and glue together the 45 degree angles. Then take your 2” nails and nail gun to tack each corner together. (The glue will hold it once dry, the nail is to just secure it enough until it dries) 3.) Time to make your second layer. This time measure you tv but from the edge of the screen to the edge of the screen both vertical and horizontal . This second frame will be about 1/2”-1” smaller than the first depending on your tv. 4.) Use your decorative 1x4” trim to cut the second set of measurements. Remember the inside of your frame is the measurements you want, not the outside. 5.) Now add wood glue along the side closest to the screen on the pine 1x3 frame. Put your decorative trim frame on top. It should be a little smaller than the pine frame. Use 1” nails to tack it to the pine frame. 6.) Now’s a good time to dry fit it and make sure it fits your tv;) 7.) Flip frame over and screw in the corner braces to firm it up. 8.) Flip it back over and fill in the cracks in the corners with wood filler and wipe excess away. 9.) Time to paint! Use black spray paint or craft paint to paint the whole frame. 10.) Squeeze rub n buff on the frame and use your fingers to rub it all in. Yes, you will have golden fingers😆 11.) Flip frame back over and add elastic in the corners. Attach with the 1/2” wood screws. 12.) Hang your frame on your tv and be amazed!! MATERIAL LIST- 3 - 1x3x8 pine boards ($11 for 3) 3 - 1x4x8 decorative window trim ($45 for 3) Metal corner braces ($4) Wood glue ($3.75) 1” elastic ($4) 1/2” wood screws ($3) Black spray paint ($5) 1 tube rub n buff (European gold) ($6) TOTAL - $83.75 Save this post for future frame building!👏🏼Button

BEFORE & AFTER…..This might just be my favorite room yet!! This is the room that sold me on the whole cabin. I love a room full of windows, especially when they have a view. I designed this room first and it’s one of the last ones to be finished, but it was worth the wait. Let’s talk about budget savers. This peel and stick flooring is the star of the show, and only cost $200. The other star….the black spray paint and car moulding that transformed these orange windows to look brand new for another $100. A little budget goes a long way with some vision and creativity.👏🏼 I imagine a lot of meals eaten here, many hours of puzzling and card games, this room is room is now going to create a lot of memories for you all and I can’t wait! Make sure you’re following along in stories because fun stuff is happening every day! *paint color is Benjamin Moore Gray TavernButton

It will never get old. Trying to remove tile is a huge headache and also a huge expense! My favorite solution - peel and stick! BEFORE & AFTER!! Let’s take a moment for the still photos and swipe right to see how this bland, outdated, beige room, transformed into an elegant moody bedroom! I can’t stop swiping myself;) If you followed along in stories today you saw how I made this DIY frame for our inexpensive flat screen tv and turned it into a piece of art by casting a photo from YouTube on it. And everything is in the little details, like adding a cord cover and painting it to match the wall so it blends in seamlessly. Alright, now to go crawl in that cozy bed and watch a show! But first, I’ve gotta know…are you team tv in the bedroom?!?Button

The bunk room is DONE!! This room is small but needed to function big, so we added bunk beds with a queen underneath allowing it to comfortably sleep 3. Orlando, Florida - 2024. Our family has been coming to this same spot at @sheratonvistanavillages for over 20 years. My dad loved this spot so much and invested in it so we could all enjoy it with them, even as our families grew. I’m so grateful mom continues to carry on the tradition and we get to create these special memories with her. ❤️ Some of our favorite memories of this trip…. * vacationing with cousins * holding an alligator * Benihana * Beckett finishing the Bible! * Grandpa’s shirt * Relaxing * GRANDMA ❤️ We had nothing planned this trip except for sunshine and relaxing and it was just what we needed! Now to be home and finish up the rentals! 👏🏼 I’d love to hear your favorite spot to vacation below 👇🏼Button

I’ve been so very honored to be able to join arms with this amazing community on instagram and pray over our kids, and we have seen God hear and answer our prayers! We know that the battle we fight is in the unseen realm and I have learned that being intentional in prayer on our kids behalf is one of the most powerful ways we can help them in this loud and crazy world. After our last online 30 day challenge, I had many requests to create it into a book that you can do at any time. So I’ve taken the 30 days of prompts and written out a prayer for each one. I designed this book with a spiral bound so that you can keep it open to the verse that goes with each day and use it as a daily reminder to pray over your kids. Set it out somewhere that you will see it often. I also left a blank page for you to write your own prayers. I know so many people feel as though they don’t know how to pray, so I hope that my prayers give you confidence, but the reality is that God wants a personal relationship with you and desires to hear your voice and your heart! So write your own personal prayer and grow your relationship with Jesus as well. And how awesome to be able to go back and see how God has answered different prayers we’ve said to Him (often in ways we don’t expect) and testify to what He is doing. The book is available in both a download version that you can use on your phone or print yourself, or a physical hard copy for you to use. If you are interested you can comment the word CHALLENGE and get the link to purchase.Button

This drab and dreary bedroom got a moody makeover with a few simple steps. #1.) Add picture moulding. It really is a beginner level DIY anyone can do, and it only cost around $350 to do this room and make a huge impact! #2.) Paint your ceiling, walls and trim all the same color. It makes for a super dramatic feel and all with a little paint. I have a full tutorial on how to do the picture moulding saved in highlights below so make sure to check it out! Paint color is: Dusky Gray by DutchBoy paints *I like to paint my walls and trim all the same sheen and use satin. Makes it super easy to touch up when needed.Button

BEFORE & AFTER!!! I know you all love still photos and a good back and forth swipe, so here you go. It’s still amazing to me that we transformed this whole bathroom for $2500. She’s small but mighty! The bathroom is DONE! Don’t underestimate what a small budget can do when you’re willing to do the work yourself. And don’t forget how much design is in the little DETAILS! It’s honestly my favorite challenge. Head to the link in my bio for all the sources to our $2500 bathroom reno and let me know what you think in comments below.👏🏼Button

BUDGET BUDGET BUDGET. What happens when you have a tight budget but don’t want to sacrifice design? Splurge on one showstopper item and try to save on the rest. I fell in love with these Zellinge handmade tiles from @alexanderjames_shop but knew that if I used them, I’d have to skimp on other areas. And guess what?!? I was okay with that! So I decided to use peel and stick flooring (I’ve used it in 3 other projects and it’s held up great for over a year now in bathrooms and porches that freeze in winter) I chose to buy a stock, big box store vanity for a fraction of the cost of any custom vanities or high end vanities (ps, add your own hardware like I did and it’s an instant upgrade) and we replaced the tub surround and painted the tub instead of doing a custom tiled shower. I love the look of a shower curtain anyway so no need to show off the shower. And the best way to save on the budget is to learn to do it yourself! I have a whole story highlight teaching you how to tile and wire a light and so much more. It’s easy to go over on this, and just upgrade that, and before you know it you aren’t sleeping at night because the bills are piling up. Let me tell you, it’s not worth it! Learn how to stretch your dollar without sacrificing design with these easy tips!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼. BUDGET BREAKDOWN: Zellinge tiles: $1000 Vanity: $299 Tub Surround: $325 Peel & Stick flooring: $60 Tub spray paint: $40 Gallon of paint: $35 Lighting: $145 Total: $1905 Follow along as we finish off this bathroom remodel and head to the link in my bio for all of the sources and links to this project!Button

It’s always an adventure with the Davis family! And this week did not disappoint. When the weather in Florida is cold you get creative and make the most amazing memories. Like jump off a cliff together, tour the oldest fort in America, stand 2” from a ginormous alligator and laugh til your gut hurts. Having a friend live cross country means being intentional and I’m so grateful our families have made it a priority to not only keep this friendship growing, but strengthening it every year! Love you @carcabaroad !!! Thanks for an amazing time! Also, you’re welcome for including Ryan’s duck walk across the bridge of death😆.Button

THE OAKS “In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the LORD has planted for his own glory.” Isaiah 61:3 NLT. This verse inspired the name for our new vacation rental we are building. The lot is surrounded by huge oak trees, and the meaning of this verse is so powerful. The beginning starts with God’s promise to replace mourning with gladness and a faint spirit with a garment of praise. We felt like this build that Ryan made (how amazing is that?) is a huge testimony to what God has done in our lives. We’ve walked through the fire a few times, but each time God planted our feet firmer in His truth, held up by His love, and rejoicing with His peace. And we pray that this spot can bring that same hope to all of you. We desire “The Oaks” to be a spot of restoration, of Gods goodness and His glory to surround you, just like the huge oak trees on the property do! So even though the cabin isn’t even painted, her message stands clear. We’ve already been praying over her and know God will use this spot to minister to so many. We can’t wait to have you!Button

It’s time to take our families back. When culture is loud, when fear sets in, when things feel hopeless, we fight on our knees! Losing the hearts of our kids is sometimes a slow fade and other times seems like a whirlwind. If we aren’t intentional in keeping their hearts and consistently pointing them to Jesus this world will eat them up. It’s time to pour into our kids by fighting the spiritual battles and claiming our territory over our houses and our families. We will pray BIG prayers for revival, repentance, healing, and conviction and watch God work. I’ve also learned we need community to persevere, testify, and carry us along the way. I love this corner because there is community here! JOIN US! As we fight together. Pray for your kids, pray for your grandkids, pray for the younger generation. Comment PRAY for the free 30 day guide and join us in stories starting January 1st as I’ll pray for 30 days and share testimonies of what God is doing.🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼. #prayforourkids #pray #prayerchallenge #prayerchangesthings #revivalButton

Merry Christmas from the Lundeens! We are so grateful to share this little space with so many of you and point each other to the real joy this season. Not only at Christmas, but I hope every day of the year you realize that the gift of baby Jesus gives us hope that gets us through all of the chaos, quiets the noise, and keeps our eyes and hearts on the main reason we are here, to love God and love others. “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.” Mark 12:30-31 📸 @annaerickson30Button

I finally put all of our favorite Bibles together in one spot since I get asked all the time which ones our family use. So many people are intimidated to read the Bible thinking it’s too hard to understand, which makes them not open the book and honestly not truly understanding who God is. The Bible is our one unwavering, unchanging, absolute truth in a world of chaos and confusion. It brings indescribable peace and the best HOPE of all, a Savior who died for our sins offering us the free gift of eternal life if we only accept Him as Lord and Savior. So comment BIBLE on this reel and grab a Bible for you, or the whole family, and start the BEST adventure of your life!Button

My favorite way to wrap presents is to keep a basket of all my supplies by the tree so I never have to dig all over for everything! And when you coordinate your paper, it makes the basket pretty and acts as decor. Now I wrap presents as soon as they come and never have to worry about the kids finding out what they are getting. So repurpose a basket and fill it up with wrapping paper, ribbon, tags, scissors and tape and have some happy wrapping. 👏🏼 . #christmas #christmasdecor #wrapping #wrappingpaper #christmaswrapping #functionaldecorButton

This. When the world gets loud, when culture tells us what we are doing is bad, we have to always come back to THIS. Our end goal is ETERNITY, and doing all we can to make sure our kids are prepared for it. Create the culture that is rooted in a firm foundation. That is built on a rock - the absolute truth. We would love to walk alongside you and help you figure out how to do that and create a culture within your 4 walls that is God honoring, where the end goal is eternity, and that looks SET APART! Give me all the puzzles!!! For real though, our family loves puzzles because it is a magnet for family time, conversation and giggles. I joke saying, start a puzzle and they will come. Even my teenage son joins in, and if we’re lucky we can get Ryan to sit for a bit too! Have you heard this line? It’s one of my biggest pet peeves because I know how much work and intention has gone into raising well behaved, respectful kids that we ENJOY and want to be around. Parenting never stops. It’s a mission for sure, and one we need to persevere in through every season. In the course that’s launching FRIDAY, we will share how we did this, starting at infant and still going strong through teenage years. And our biggest bit of encouragement to you parents is to put the work in during the early years, because the rewards are amazing to see as your kids grow. “All discipline for the moment seems not to be joyful, but sorrowful; yet to those who have been trained by it, afterwards it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness.” Hebrews 12:11 #parenting #raisingkids #respectfulkids #respect #boundaries #intentionalparentingButton

Traditions bond families and it’s a huge reason I love them! Our favorite Christmas tradition is doing family advent cards. Each year I write out 25 cards with fun activities, service projects, baking and outside fun, put them in a little advent calendar, and starting December 1st the kids take turns opening a door and reading the card. I love that it helps us be intentional during the season to create memories and also focus on doing good for others. It’s something my kids look so forward to every year! 1 week away from launching a course that has been heavy on my heart for years now called Creating Culture-Living Set Apart in Todays world. Getting married, starting a family, and staying strong in our faith is a huge challenge in the culture we live in. We believe there is an unseen spiritual war fighting against our families and our beliefs, and as the gatekeepers to our homes, we need to be prepared and protect our family culture, our marriages, and our kids at all costs. In this course we will cover 6 different areas of creating culture: 1.) Home 2.) Marriage 3.) Parenting 4.) Family 5.) Finances 6.) Screens/tech/cultural topics We think that this course would be the most valuable to watch as a couple, and I think the most beneficial before you even start your family; if possible. It’s intended to get you and your spouse on the same team, to open communication or start communication before these topics arise and to get YOU to determine the culture YOU want to create in your home without letting the world dictate what you have to do. If you are watching culture hijack your family, and you have a deep desire for more, then we want to walk alongside you, link arms and encourage you that you are not alone. Stay tuned for more details, information and encouragement along the way as we get ready to launch - Creating Culture!Button

I’m so in love with my new @albanyparkhome Barton sofa in hazelnut boucle fabric. I never thought I’d stray from my light furniture until I saw the gorgeous texture of this material, and knowing the hazelnut color is stain resistant and will wear amazing was a huge selling point for our family of 4 kids and 4 pets. It’s also 100% vegan and hypoallergenic. The set up took less than 5 minutes with no tools involved and was so helpful to come in sections so we could easily maneuver into our home. Last year we did a 30 day challenge of praying for our husbands and we watched God transform not only our marriages but our spiritual lives! It’s evident that there’s a war on the nuclear family, and it’s time to take our stand, pick up our armor, and fight for our families. What stood out to me the most last time was that when I spent time in prayer for my husband, God ended up working on MY heart the most. He transformed MY way of thinking and broke me free from the LIES culture tells us. Because marriage is more about our relationship with God and honoring him than it even is about our spouse. So who’s ready to join me in committing to pray for 30 days for our marriage, our spouses, our families and ourselves and see how God moves, because we know prayer is the best weapon we have and we are about to demolish some strongholds in the spiritual realms! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼. We start Monday, September 25th! So leave a comment if you are joining and tag a friend that you want to hop on this challenge too! Let’s encourage each other and egg each other on! I’ll be sending out an email with prayer prompts (sign up on my blog if you haven’t) and will also be praying live in stories every night. Can’t wait to start and see God move in our lives. #marriage #prayer #challenge #prayerchallenge #marriagechallengeButton

Well this is exciting!!! We just closed on a FIXER UPPER cabin and I can’t WAIT to make her beautiful!!! She’s got amazing bones but needs a little cosmetic makeover. Think paint, peel and sticks, rub n buff, power tools and a WHOLE LOT OF VISION!! This one is my baby and I am going back to my roots with DIYS on a budget without sacrificing design. And I can’t wait to take you along on the ride. Buckle up, cause this one is gonna go quick! . PS, I know everyone is thinking exactly the same thing that we thought 1,000 times. Don’t you have enough going on? How are you doing this? Why would you want another property? Well, head to the blog to get the answers, plus more photos with some ideas for the transformation! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼Button

To all the homeschooling mamas and public schooling mamas. Remember, no matter what, we are our kids biggest teachers. I pray our influence over our kids is louder than the worlds and that we are intentional about teaching them Gods ways and His will for their lives. 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼Button

BEFORE & AFTER!! Swipe right to see the 2 before photos of this exact same space last year when we bought the lot.😱 . I can’t even begin to share how excited I am about this reveal. The sweat equity that went into this project was like none other but I honestly feel like we gained so much real estate and created a space out of nothing! Talk about rewarding. On top of that it makes me sooo happy knowing how many of YOU are going to have amazing moments right here, relaxing, unwinding, and I pray rejuvenating your souls. We are celebrating every step of this journey and it feels so good to have one area done! Thanks for the encouragement whole way. And also, I think I finally came up with a name for our place and these pictures give a huge clue. I’ll share soon! 😉❤️👏🏼 . . . #landscape #landscapedesigns #landscapedesigner #bluff #landscaping #landscapearchitecture #lakelandscape #lakelife #firepit #firepitdesign #firepitseason #adirondackchairButton

They have my heart. . Thank you @annaerickson30 for capturing our family so perfectly. This new season of life we are in, the one where we are no longer searching for baby sitters, praying for sleep, or figuring out how to parent them through a temper tantrum has been different, but so fun. Although I desperately miss the goofy toddler days, having meaningful conversations with your teens, watching their faith become their own, seeing where their passions lie and what makes them light up or burst out laughing, is beyond priceless. . I know this season will change again too quickly, so I’ll soak up every minute I have with them all under our roof. Thank you Jesus for this family you’ve blessed me with.Button

Black moulding reveal!! This little corner got a major dose of moody and I love it! I also swapped out the console table for some much needed storage (homeschool curriculum) and I love the arch details it adds. This project is a labor of love but one that I’m so happy with. . . . #boxmoulding #picturemoulding #blackwalls #onyx #diyButton

That’s a wrap! 4 years ago two girls met on this crazy Instagram app over a love for home decor. 3 years ago we decided to meet in person and introduced our families to each other for the first time. Fast forward to 2023 and not only has our friendship grown so much deeper through life experiences, loss, and strengthening our faith, but our families have become best friends as well. We’ve now vacationed together 4 times, and each time gets better and better! Thank you Jesus for the gift of friendship, for doing life together, and for lots of laughs and fun!! (Swipe right to see all the fun!) We are so blessed and will remember these memories forever. Until next time…..Button

Phase 2 is done and I couldn’t be happier!! The black wall was a big change but this DIY box moulding elevated the look and added so much more! Tearing down shiplap, patching a wall and making it smooth again was a huge mess and a ton of work, but I would do it all over again for these results! Swipe right to see the before, mid and after and let me know if the black grew on you! . Paint color is Benjamin Moore Onyx in matte finish. . #boxmoulding #boxmoulding #picturemoulding #trimwork #diy #diyhomedecor #diyprojects #blackwall #blackstairs #blackdecorButton

Ryan’s secret project REVEALED!! I thought he was absolutely crazy when he showed me this Facebook marketplace find that he wanted so badly. We have a million projects going on, but dad knew how much fun a water slide would be at the cabin. It turned into a Tate + Dad project, which I love. They built, engineered, and created this masterpiece, complete with water pump and LED party lights! And when they were done, I got my hands on it, because there was no way I was keeping it red and blue 🤪 What do you think of little miss slip’n slide?!? Isn’t she fun?!? Lundeen water park is open for business!! Also, good job dad🥰❤️ You made some dreams come true! . . . #waterslide #waterslidefun #cabin #cabinlife #cabincrew #cabinlove #cabinliving #cabinlifestyle #familyfun #diy #lakelife #lakelifeisthebestlife #lakelifestyleButton

Part 1 reveal!!! When I decided to tear off my old faux shiplap I knew it would be a job, but I didn’t quite realize just how big of a job! But…I got the wall put back together, it’s smooth enough for this non-perfectionist, and I think I’m going to be surprising some of you with the DRAMATIC black paint!!😱 I was so inspired by @plankandpillow matte black office that I knew I needed to try it, and don’t worry, this is just the beginning….the picture moulding is going to make it come alive!! I can’t wait to get started… I know this is always controversial, pulling down shiplap…but don’t worry, half my house is still shiplap and I’m leaving it, but I do like mixing texture and wall treatments so I’m excited for something new. Are you still all shiplap or onto new things?Button

GARDEN UPDATE!!! Swipe to see some before & afters of how far she’s come the last month! Starting this project I was all about creating a beautiful space and the kids were all about growing the veggies, it was a win win. But I couldn’t have expected how much joy came with tending a garden, watching it grow, and harvesting our own vegetables. The kids are beyond excited every time there is something new to pick, and we can’t wait for all of those tomato cherries to ripen! The trick for me was to keep the garden small enough that it was easy to manage all summer long. These raised beds were the perfect solution and also oh so pretty. Head to the blog for a full post with all of the links and tips. Is it just me or do you find so much joy in gardening too? Time to go water the garden!! . . #garden #gardening #gardens #gardeninspiration #gardenlove #gardenideas #raisedbeds #raisedbedgarden #raisedbedgardeningButton

I truly believe God has gifted each of us with a unique set of gifts that can be used to glorify Him. I love to use the gifting of design and DIY to create a safe haven for my family and a home that is not only beautiful, but also attainable at any budget.

Homeschool
An unexpected journey with amazing results!
I wrote a blog post of the why behind our decision that goes more into depth, and also highlights what a day in our house looks like, how homeschooling is different from public school, the benefits and struggles, and also the links to curriculum and resources we use.
